Halfway through city of ruins and it’s great. Not quite as good as the force and cartel series(10 out of 10s) but a very entertaining read. I hope he changes his mind
This is an insightful interview with a major literary agent with some great advice.
Great interview TJ! 😊❤
Thanks so much!
@@TheThrillerZone You're very welcome! You have a great show! 😊
Just finished "back blast". With the exception of chapter 45, that book was great! Loved it!
Great to hear!
I'm dying to know how deeply he researches his novels. Can't seem to find that answer. Someone needs to ask him.
Kindly give time stamps, otherwise a stellar effort.
Hey Club THANK YOU FOR THE NICE WORDS! He’s one of my favorite authors.
Oh man! What an interview! I have not read any of Brian's work, but looks like Break Every Rule will be my first! I love when I find authors who have been around the block a few times and they are still fresh with new ideas!
Outstanding episode! Steve is awesome, Davis is awesome, Shadow Tier series is awesome, Shadow Sanction audio book is awesome. Just awesomeness all around
Mark? True on ALL counts! Thanks for being a part of our Thriller Zone!
Indeed. Such a talent and good friend!
What a way to start my Friday. Steve Stratton is a wealth of knowledge steeped in kindness and generosity! Great conversation.
Steve deserves all the success! Absolutely incredible person and story teller.
Agreed and good dude.
A fantastic read Year of the Locust

Great list! Some I've already got on my TBR pile and others that are new to me! Can't wait for what you've got in store for the next season of Thriller Zone, oh and more details on your own writing endeavors! Shout out to Tammy for co-hosting duties. Maybe next rundown we get to hear about some of her picks?
Wishing all the best, David!
Thanks JD!
Actually, there are 52 weeks in a year, David.
I know bro. I was rounding down for “easy math” … plus I only work 50 weeks!😂
Great list to build your TBR with!
So true Steve. Thanks!

Another great episode! Jack is a busy guy!
Thanks Jeff. I so appreciate you. And yes; he’s (always) Coming In Hot!
I never hear why James Grady used the name Condor?
Favorite guest! Can't wait to dive into Red Sky Mourning! Great words of adive for writers too. David, have you thought about collecting all those quotes and just reading them or discussing them on a special show? I'd think after 188 you've got some pretty good ones to share!
Corey such a solid suggestion. I just might have to do that. Thanks for the kind words and for being there to listen!
🪓🪓 need a crossed tomahawk emoji!! Great show!
Thanks Mark. It was (and is always) a blast with Jack!
Happy Juneteenth Freedom Day today. Great job with the interview with Jack Carr on his latest book called Red Sky Mourning novel. I'm planning on reading the book from start to finish. I also read books and working on my own novel series myself.
BOOM! You two had me right out of the gate. Great conversation! #takewarningtour - Looking forward to "Targeted Beirut!"
Thank you love. As always Jack is such a joy to talk with and inspiration to boot!
Heck yeah, David! Jack is back! Great interview, brother.
Thanks Luke; as always, he's on the top of his game. Appreciate your listening!
There's a great proverb... "What's more powerful than a great story?" That what Kenda made it's more subtle art of Storytelling.. unique as it's finest form..!!
Mr. Temple, you sir, are a gem.
Wow, that’s mighty kind of you. And what made you say that specifically? Thanks for listening!
@@TheThrillerZone Sir, you ask educated questions. You try to mine resources for your audience, who are dominated by up & coming like us and finally, your presentation is second to none, your voice, your topics, the guest list. I congratulate you. Please continue educating us.
I've been visiting The Real Book Spy site for a few years. Goodreads is useless and you will never see these books on their list.
I haven't been living under a rock but in South America. I didn't know about Mr. Ignatius. Well, now I do. I am glad I found a new author, thanks to you, Mr. Temple. Greetings.
Hi JD and thanks for the love; yeah he’s a smart man and the book is solid.
Nobody works harder on putting together top notch high quality videos than David Temple. Perfection!
Jeff thank you. And coming from a pro like you that means a LOT! I’m so glad you enjoy the show; as you know (how hard this really is) I LOVE my job (which isn’t really J-O-B). Cheers!!
Your point about 4:00 in is interesting. I am a huge fan of Steven Pressfield, who is known for his historical fiction (centering on ancient Greece) but he wrote a thriller called The Profession. I picked it up because it has his name on it so I "knew" it would be really good but because it wasn't what I look for in a Pressfield, it sat on the shelf for over a year before I finally read it. If he had written it under a pen name I never would have found it but because it's so different from what he is known and loved for I think a lot of people overlook it. I never hear anyone discussing The Profession even though its one of the most fun (for lack of a better word) and fast-paced thrillers I've ever read. Seems like an interesting conundrum for established authors who want to try their hand at a new genre.
Such SOLID input. Thank you! I’ll now have to catch this one too!
Great conversation! Subscribed!
Thank you for listening, supporting and subscribing. It’s great to have you here!
Frank bill is the fuckin man period. He gives me hope as a blue collar guy, that i can achieve my writing dream too. Thanks frank. Thanks for the interview fellas.
Thanks for the comments Eric!
I really like Terry Hayes writing and story telling , read I Pilgrim and now reading Year of the Locust. I hope Terry keeps writing he's an awesome storyteller
Thanks for the comments Donald. We agree; Terry is amazing!
When Eric started in on the gun control stuff I knew this wasn't for me. He obviously doesn't know the different states, especially NY gun laws. I can't buy a semi-auto after hunting all my life because of new laws.
Understood. Thank you for listening and supporting our podcast!
Just wanted to know when is pilgrim 2 coming out? One more thing I would have asked Mr Hayes that, what about the two chapters he wrote as a glimpse to Locust. Why did those not appear in the book? Lastly, superb Interview.
Good questions Anand. Perhaps next time. And THANK YOU for the kind words.
Cold Calling brilliant...
Great show.
Thanks my friend. We had so much fun!
Orphan X is a great book series. Can’t stop reading.
AGREED! The thing about Hurwitz is how addictive his writing is to read! Thanks for joining the show and please be sure to SUBSCRIBE!
I’m a clinical mental health counselor by trade and training. I’m always talking to writers about keeping their goals secret. That data he was mentioning is real and it is makes a massive difference. Every time you tell someone what you’re GOING TO DO, it takes a little air out of your motivation balloon. Again, awesome interview!
Agreed! He has some real insights. As always thanks for taking the time to share!
These are getting better and better. Incredible!
